Meanwhile, NVIDIA and Google are tackling the other side of the equation with their new A5X infrastructure, promising 10x lower AI inference costs through hardware-software codesign.

But here's what caught my attention: while we're scaling AI development and reducing inference costs, we're also seeing unexpected demand spikes. Astronomers are now competing for the same GPUs we use for business applications, using AI to hunt for galaxies in vast datasets.

After 25+ years in technology, I've never seen such rapid convergence of capability and necessity. We're not just automating code generation — we're fundamentally restructuring how digital systems get built and operated.

The question isn't whether AI will transform software development. It's whether organizations can adapt their processes, infrastructure, and talent strategies fast enough to capture the advantage.
